CARSON CITY, NV (JANUARY 1, 2020) – Marson Foods, a Carson City, Nevada-based manufacturer of delicious quality waffle products, announced today, its formal launch into the institutional channel. Equipped with brand new state of the art commercial grade waffle baking and production technology, the company will focus on serving K-12 and foodservice customers with the mission to create enjoyable, nutritious, delicious and authentic waffles that keep students smiling and coming back for more. As its first product offering, Marson Foods will lead with their flagship brand, Waffle Envy, a line of high-quality Artisan Belgian Liege Waffles. Marson Foods is setting up with major distributors and brokers that will support marketing and sales of Waffle Envy to K-12 school districts and foodservice customers throughout the United States.
“We’re excited to offer a unique and delicious product to K-12 school districts,” said Dave Marson, Founder of Marson Foods. “Waffle Envy is a delicious waffle that’s versatile, doesn’t require syrup to enjoy, is easy to clean-up and most importantly, is fun-to-eat.”
The Liege (LEE-AGE) style of waffle originated in the region of Liege, Belgium. Waffle Envy Belgian Liege Waffles are a dough-based waffle, unlike common batter-based waffles or toaster waffles. The waffles start as dough balls that are pressed between hot irons and baked into a golden treat. Special Belgian pearl sugars are folded into the dough which adds a fun, light subtle crunch and sweetness to the eating experience.
Waffle Envy Artisan Belgian Liege Waffles are available individually wrapped or in bulk pack cases. They are offered in 2.3 oz. and 1.8 oz. 1GE size for Smart Snack programs. Flavors include Maple, Strawberry, Vanilla and Blueberry.
“Our initial testing programs with K-12 school districts have shown great promise,” said Andrew Strolin, EVP, Marson Foods. “We’re looking forward to providing a unique feeding option that will help schools increase student participation and diversify their menus, while still offering a nutritionally sound product.”
